Review has appeared on the current state of physical basic research on homeopathic medicines

Over the last 15 years, the number of publications in the area of experimental physical research on homeopathic medicines has risen significantly, so a systemic review of the works is especially important. The first of two articles of a literature review on the state of this research area has now appeared in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (JAMC).

Over the last 15 years, the number of publications in the area of experimental research on homeopathic medicines has risen significantly

The publication is an important contribution to the further development of homeopathic basic research. The results aim to show which physical and explanatory methods the research must concentrate on in the future in order to scientifically justify the mechanism of action of homeopathic medicines. The research team carried out a detailed evaluation of 183 publications included in the study. Among other things, they showed that the quality of the studies has improved significantly since the beginning of the millennium and a wide range of experimental methods have already been used to develop promising approaches to researching homeopathic medicines. The next step is to build on these and reproduce them.

Researchers from the Homeopathy Research Institute in London, Witten-Herdecke University, the Cancer Research Association in Arlesheim, the Institute for Complementary Medicine of Bern University, and the research department of Hevert-Arzneimittel GmbH & Co. KG were involved in the project.
