The second charity football tournament of the manufacturer of naturopathic remedies attracted numerous visitors to Nussbaum – the company team of Meisterservice Simmern won the regional European Championship.
More than 800 visitors made their way to the sports field of Nussbaum cheering their regional company teams. They got rewarded with exciting games and a diversified program next to the football field. Marcus Hevert, associate of Hevert-Arzneimittel and organizer of the event, was especially happy about the great number of teams. “We are proud that the second charity tournament once again is supported by so many companies. Today, 20 company teams of the Nahe River valley will play against each other and, at the same time, doing good together.” Having fun together was not the main purpose of the tournament. “The total proceeds of the day will be donated to the association Förderverein Lützelsoon, which supports social projects in our region.”
On time – the Hevert-Cup started at 10 o’clock. Mathias Hevert, CEO of Hevert-Arzneimittel, gladly welcomed the guests and the political VIP guests, first of all Mrs. Julia Klöckner, chairman of the regional CDU and patron of the tournament, as well as Mr. Herbert Wirzius, first chairman of the association Förderverein Lützelsoon. “It is a great honor for me to be chosen as patron for the Hevert-Cup and to give the starting signal for the tournament,” Julia Klöckner emphasized. “I would like to thank the company Hevert, which ideally combines economic success and social commitment. I’m convinced that this support will be very useful for the Förderverein.” She wished all the teams a great rehearsal for the ‘regional European Championship‘ before the German national team would face Portugal the same evening.
Even before the tournament officially started, a first donation was made. The youth club of Nussbaum proudly handed over 300 Euro to the association Förderverein Lützelsoon by a symbolic check.
The 20 company teams fought in four separate groups for the win of the tournament. After an exciting final, which had been decided by a penalty shootout, the winning teams were found. The team of Meisterservice Simmern won the final game against the 2010 titleholder, the team of Petra’s Haarstudio Monzingen, by 4:3. The teams of Schneider Bau Merxheim and Männerballett Staudernheim followed in places 3 and 4.
Next to the football field and in between the games, a fun and entertaining program as well as a lot to eat and drink were meant to satisfy all ages. Three regional dancing groups, the cheerleader of the Flying Chicken Dance Department of the TUS 04 Monzingen, Kalahari of the SV Meckenbach and New Spirit of the cultural club Staudernheim, fired up spectators with their lively and colorful performances. The children’s program with goal wall shooting and a Wheel of Fortune made children’s eyes light up. Even a large raffle was not missing. The first prize was a hand-signed football shirt of the German football club 1. FC Köln.
Once the tournament was over, visitors made their way to the marquee. Starting at 6 p.m., they were able to watch the European Championship games Netherlands-Denmark and the first group game of the German national team against Portugal on a big screen/video wall. They were celebrating together until early morning.
“We are aware of our social responsibility and therefore support regional, national as well as international projects and activities.” Mathias Hevert concluded the charity tournament. The Hevert-Cup is part of the company’s permanent commitment. ”We will organize the tournament every second year and, with this, we hope that we will be able to support regional projects in the future, too.” The final amount of donations will be announced within the next days.
