A room of his own for Lukas – Hevert Cup fulfills a boy's wish

Symbolic handover of the check: Organizers of the benefit soccer tournament Hevert Cup 2016 hand over a check for 11,000 euros to the sponsoring association "Förderverein Lützelsoon e.V." and Lukas.

At the symbolic handing over of the check in Nussbaum: (from the left) Herbert Wirzius, 1st Chairperson of the sponsoring association Lützelsoon, Mathias Hevert, Managing Director of Hevert-Arzneimittel, in the circle of the Reichardt family with Hannah, Joshua and Lukas, Sarah Hevert, Chairperson of the Hevert Foundation, and Isabell Lauf of the Lützelsoon sponsoring association – everyone is overjoyed about the successful surprise.

Hannah, Joshua and Lukas romp boisterously around their parents. The Reichardt family along with Herbert Wirzius and Isabell Lauf from the sponsoring association "Förderverein Lützelsoon e.V." came to Nussbaum to the main company headquarters of Hevert. After the fourth benefit soccer tournament Hevert Cup was held in May, carried out by the Hevert Foundation and Hevert-Arzneimittel, the organizers could now name the sum of donations collected for Lukas, who suffers from leukemia, and his family: "It was the fourth and most successful Hevert Cup", announced Sarah Hevert, Chairperson of the Hevert Foundation. "The day was simply overwhelming for all of us." "The big exciting question today is how much we were actually able to take in for the sponsoring association and Lukas," added Mathias Hevert, Managing Director of Hevert-Arzneimittel. "We don't want to torture you any longer, and are delighted to say that we are able to donate 11,000 euros."

Nearly overcome with emotion and gratitude, the Reichardt family accepted the symbolic check. "We were right in the middle of remodeling our home when we got the diagnosis of leukemia. Lukas was only 5 years old at the time", recalls Mr. Reichardt. The home remodeling was supposed to provide each of the three children with a separate room. In the meantime, a room that was originally planned as a bathroom was quickly converted into a makeshift nursery for Lukas. "The donation sum is simply unbelievable and a huge help. When his new room is finished, Lukas will be perfectly happy."

Lukas still has to go to Bad Homburg once or twice a week for outpatient chemotherapy treatment. The therapy will last for another year. The doctors estimate the young boy's chances of a complete cure to be excellent.

"Together for a good cause" is the motto of the fourth Hevert Cups on the Corpus Christi holiday. Blessed with perfect summer weather, over 1,000 visitors cheered 22 recreational and company teams from the region and made the tournament on the sports field of the local soccer team, VfL Nussbaum, into a truly festive day. After a hotly contested final, Bernardy driving school won the final game 2:0 against the team of the carpentry workshop Fett of Allenfeld.

Hevert thanks all participants, helpers and guests, also in the name of Lukas and his family, for the fantastic support which made this donation possible in the first place!
